Frequency Doubling Perimetry

چکیده
DOS Times Vol. 11, No. 6 December, 2005 The goal of perimetry is to establish an accurate estimate of visual field sensitivity. Perimetry is performed to detect early visual field defects, determine specific patterns of visual field loss for differential diagnosis and monitor for evidence of progression of field loss. Conventionally Standard Achromatic Perimetry (SAP) has been used to achieve these purposes but there are certain inherent disadvantages. Newer techniques have developed in need for faster methods of screening, diagnosis and follow-up as compared to conventional perimetry and to examine motion attributes of vision that is involved early in glaucoma and not picked up by conventional perimetry. Frequency doubling technology (FDT) perimetry is such a newly developed technique for the screening and early detection of glaucoma.

Comparison of visual evoked potentials, automated perimetry and frequency-doubling perimetry in early detection of glaucomatous visual field loss.
The present study compares frequency-doubling perimetry (FDP), automated perimetry (AP) and visual evoked potentials (VEP) for their ability to diagnose early glaucoma. In present study 224 patients of Clinic for Eye Diseases, Clinical Hospital "Sestre Milosrdnice" that had diagnosis of open angle glaucoma and glaucomatous visual field loss proven by automated static perimetry on only one eye w...

PURPOSE To compare the test-retest variability characteristics of frequency-doubling perimetry, a new perimetric test, with those of conventional perimetry in glaucoma patients and normal control subjects. METHODS The study sample contained 64 patients and 47 normal subjects aged 66.16+/-11.86 and 64.26+/-7.99 years (mean +/- SD), respectively. All subjects underwent frequency-doubling perime...
متن کاملA Comparison of the Effects of Neutral Density Filters and Diffusing Filters on Motion Detection Perimetry, White-on-white Perimetry and Frequency Doubling Perimetry
Background: Motion detection perimetry and frequency doubling perimetry are methods that have been developed with the goal of detecting glaucomatous field defects earlier than conventional white-on-white perimetry. It is well recognized that the development of cataract and pupillary constriction can significantly influence perimetric thresholds when screening for, or following the progression o...
متن کامل[Agreement and correlation between the frequency doubling perimetry and the blue-yellow perimetry in glaucoma: no support for selective damage].
PURPOSE To test the agreement and correlation between the frequency doubling technology and the short wavelength perimetry in glaucoma. METHODS Glaucoma patients were selected from the Glaucoma Sector of CEROF - Universidade Federal de Goiás, and then underwent frequency doubling technology and short wavelength perimetry examinations in both eyes (if eligible) on the same day in a random sequ...
متن کاملFrequency doubling technology perimetry for detection of glaucomatous visual field loss.
PURPOSE To evaluate the ability of frequency doubling technology perimetry to detect early, moderate, and advanced glaucomatous visual field loss. METHODS In a prospective study, frequency doubling technology perimetry (C-20 full threshold) was performed in the right eye of 254 normal control subjects and 230 patients with early (n = 85), moderate (n = 114), or advanced (n = 31) glaucomatous ...
